OTAs have made life much easier for operators who are worried about reputation and are looking for a credible and user-friendly channel to market their product through.
Nonetheless, the annual cost borne by those operators who are managing numerous properties in various locations is massive on the balance sheet. We have all wondered, even if only fleetingly, what we could have done had we not needed to pay a surcharge of 15% on most bookings. What is the opportunity cost?
